Varn in Flame Light

Based on an original Jim made for himself over ten years ago, these striking square vases are perfect for a spray of spring blossom, or planted with specimen bulbs and watered lightly. Each one is handbuilt and then decorated using a cockleshell to create a rhythmic pattern across the surface, catching ash and flame beautifully during the firing.

Each of our woodfired pots will have a unique colour landscape. Pots in Flame Light will fall within gentle golden hues of ochre, bronze and honey with flashes of reds and browns. These lighter tones come from gentler parts of the kiln away from the main ember beds.

All our Woodfired Planters feature an Oak Leaf Stamp to mark the first firing of the Whichford Woodfired Kiln.
