This is a complex design closely based on pots seen holding flower arrangements in late 17th Century Dutch paintings.
The face of the Putti was modelled from Jim’s second daughter Theodora and it is flanked by two extravagant handles based on shells in the Baroque manner. Ideally, this pot should be raised on a plinth or low wall to appreciate its detail.
