Whichford Pottery Terms & Conditions — please contact us if you have any queries at all.

T&Cs for Special Offers & Free Delivery Offers

Free delivery only applies to items listed as free delivery. Items may appear in Whichford Pottery mailings, advertisements and gardening magazines. You will be charged our standard delivery fee of £29.50 if you add any products that do not qualify for free delivery to your purchase. Free delivery is to mainland UK only, excluding Scottish Highlands. Free delivery is for delivery Monday to Friday. Orders will arrive within 3 – 4 weeks (68 weeks for Personalised English Rose Pot) of placing the order unless the Pottery contacts you directly. All our pots are handmade and hand decorated so sizes, shape and decoration may vary. Pairs or sets of pots must be delivered to the same address on mainland UK. Offer is subject to availability. Previous purchases are not eligible for this offer. Offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. This offer is valid online and for telephone orders only.

Free delivery also applies to Adam Keeling Tableware and Sgraffito Tableware.

If you would prefer to collect your pots from the Pottery please call us to place your order.

Discount Codes

Discount codes are provided when we are offering a percentage off flowerpots purchased over the phone or at the Pottery.
Valid for full-priced flowerpots only. Cannot be used to purchase reduced priced pots including ‘seconds’ and ‘pot luck’. Cannot be used to purchase special commissions, including Personalised Pots. Cannot be used in conjunction with other offers, including sale offers. Previous purchases are not eligible for this offer. Discount can only be redeemed when a voucher, voucher code or advert is supplied or quoted on the day of purchase. Each offer will have a different start and end date.

Leadtimes

As all our products are handmade leadtimes will vary depending on the pots you order. This will be indicated on each product and on your order confirmation. We will always contact you if this is not the case.

If you would like delivery for a specific date (between Monday – Friday), or if you would like to delay delivery or need it urgently please indicate this at Checkout, or email orders@whichfordpottery.com and we will see what we can do.

Delivery Charge

Our delivery charge of £29.50 applies to all orders no matter the size or quantity of pots and is for mainland UK addresses only. However, we can quote for offshore or overseas delivery — please email orders@whichfordpottery.com or telephone us on +44 (0) 1608 684416. Please note that we are unable to replace any items damaged in transit to an overseas address.
The charge of £29.50 is for standard mainland UK delivery between Monday-Friday. If you would like your pots delivered on a Saturday there will be a surcharge.
We aim to hold sufficient stocks. If we are temporarily out of stock of the item(s) of your choice we will contact you with an anticipated delivery date.
Our flowerpots are incredibly robust, but we want to be sure they are handled with care so wherever possible we deliver the pots ourselves, otherwise we use a reliable carrier.

10 Year Frostproof Guarantee

We prepare our own clay, so our terracotta flowerpots all carry a 10 year frostproof guarantee against lamination in the frost. Every Whichford pot is stamped with the Whichford mark and a stamp signalling the year the pot was made so if you believe your pot has laminated in the frost do send us pictures and we will take it from there. We replace any pot that has laminated in the frost. Please click here for more info.

Quality & Design

All our flowerpots and crockery are handmade by our team of highly skilled craftsmen – being handmade, every item is unique. The handmaking process may result in variations in size, shape and decoration. The clay we use is a special mix of local clays, prepared and blended in-house to ensure the highest grade of frostproof terracotta. High quality terracotta like ours will insulate the roots of your plants from extremes of temperature while allowing them to breathe, and it will acquire a beautiful patina with time.
Every one of our flowerpots is made entirely by hand and is an individual piece of craftsmanship. Our designs are unique — ranging from the properly traditional to the completely new.

Patina on Our pots

Our clays are sourced directly local pits and contain lots of minerals and salts which will sometimes come to the surface of the pot during early use as the water migrates through the porous wall of the pot, creating the classic natural patina of aged terracotta.

If this is not desirable, then once the salts have appeared and aged they can be cleaned off with a stiff broom or a damp sponge.

Jim & Dominique’s Sgraffito

The sgraffito pieces featured on this website and in the offer are unique and once sold they will no longer be available. There are more available at the Pottery.

Flowerpots & Tableware being handmade, every item is unique. We endeavour to make items to the sizes listed in the catalogue, but the nature of the raw clay and the handmaking process may result in variations in size, shape and decoration.

Second Flowerpots

Any flowerpot which is bought as a ‘second’ from Whichford Pottery will be marked with black marker pen and will not be covered by our 10 Year Frostproof Guarantee.

Glazeware

Unfortunately, our glazeware does not carry a 10 year frostproof guarantee. Whilst our clay carries a 10 year frostproof guarantee, the glazes we use do not.

Protecting Your Card Payment Details

We use a well-known secure payment platform company, Opayo (formally SagePay), which is approved by our Bank to process your order. Any card details given by you are not stored on the server or in any email format. You will receive a confirmation of your order by email.
